Role Description The Product Development Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY, supporting the end-to-end development of men’s apparel collections. This role assists with organizing samples, tracking styles through the product lifecycle, and maintaining accurate product data and documentation. The Product Development Assistant coordinates with design, merchandising, and production teams, prepares materials for meetings, and follows up on approvals, timelines, and quality requirements. Daily responsibilities include conducting basic market and trend research, updating internal systems and spreadsheets, communicating with internal stakeholders and vendors, and helping ensure that products meet brand standards, cost targets, and delivery schedules.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Product Development and Product Lifecycle Management to support styles from concept through production and delivery.
  • Analytical Skills and Market Research abilities to interpret trends, pricing, and competitor activity and translate insights into product decisions.
  • Effective Communication skills for clear collaboration with internal teams, external vendors, and cross-functional partners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with PLM or ERP systems in an apparel or consumer goods environment.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, on-site setting.
  • Interest or experience in fashion, textiles, or apparel manufacturing; prior internship or entry-level experience in product development is beneficial.
  • Relevant education in Fashion Design, Merchandising, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
