Your Opportunity + Impact
The Architectural Technician is an entry-level technical position that assists staff in designing and compiling drawings and permit packages. This role involves preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for building projects, ensuring that designs comply with building codes, regulations, and client requirements. The Architectural Technician works closely with architects and engineers to translate conceptual designs into functional, buildable structures.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares simple to intermediate drawings, drawing sets, and other tasks as assigned in an accurate and neat manner by utilizing the designated software program.
  • Self-checks all work performed to ensure accuracy prior to turning it over for review.
  • Makes corrections to work from red lines provided by the reviewer.
  • Performs assigned tasks within the designated work-hour budget.
  • Maintains documentation and project records.
  • Collaborates with architects and engineers to refine design concepts and solve technical challenges.
  • Understands and manipulates client specific prototypes for assigned projects.

Education and Experience
  • Education: Associates Degree in Computer Based Drafting or similar technical degree.
  • Experience: No previous relevant work experience is required. Prior internships in the A/E industry are preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: n/a

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities within the architectural field.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, and other related software programs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
