Job description

About the Position:

The V2 Technician is a member of the Production Team and will report to the Video Operations Manager. This person would be assigned at a V2 level on events. This person is responsible for traditional video playback work, including installing and helping preparing equipment in the warehouse, operation of shows, and assisting in maintaining video equipment.This is an entry level position and the ideal candidate has the drive to learn video systems and gain live event experience. This is not a content creation position. Most work will take place in Pittsburgh, PA, with occasional regional travel. Pay rate is commensurate with experience, ranging from $20-$23.50 per hour, with opportunity for overtime.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Help plan configurations of Video LED walls (mobile + modular), playback, projection, switching, and operating camera systems. 
  • Preparing equipment as needed in the shop, and conducting quality control checks upon return. 
  • Collaborate with technical teams to align video requirements with event goals.
  • Coordinate LED equipment maintenance, repairs. 
  • Ability to operate cameras during events. 
  • Assist in resolving video issues quickly during setup and live events. 
  • Work with the warehouse staff to prepare shows before they are deployed and assist with equipment maintenance and organization. 
  • Support technicians and crew (Union/House) to ensure smooth operations. 
  • Understand practices and comply with industry safety and regulatory standards.
  • Excellent adaptability and client service skills (verbal and written) to communicate effectively with clients and peers. 
  • Assist other company departments as work demands require.

Candidate Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Relevant degree (or in the process of obtaining), certifications in Video or related fields preferred. 
  • Experience as a V2 in live event production, with a strong track record in various events. (1+ years experience preferred)
  • Willingness to Learn and operate video related systems. 
  • Some Knowledge in following systems:
    • LED video panels
    • Broadcast and PTZ type Cameras
    • Projector setup and tear-down
    • Video Resolutions and signal types
    • Video Switchers
    • Video Signal flow
    • Various digital video players and/or recording devices
  • Must be able to learn and follow instructions. 
  • Working knowledge of live streaming and video capture workflows. 
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and low voltage wiring. 
  • Stay calm under pressure and assist in resolving technical issues in real-time.
  • Can work independently as well as on a team. 
  • Strong communication, and organizational skills. 
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace (or willingness to learn). 
  • Familiarity with Lasso (or willingness to learn).
  • Familiarity with Flex Inventory Software (or willingness to learn). 
  • Maturity and understanding of the artistic process and the ability to work closely with clients, including artists, performers, and designers, in a diplomatic way. 
  • Operate a company owned vehicle including box trucks, pick up trucks, or cargo vans. 
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain DOT medical clearance. 
  • Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
