Job description

Position Summary:
The Student Engagement Office is hiring student workers to support the Analytics Team during campus events. In this role, you'll assist with student check-in, event entry flow, and perimeter monitoring to ensure student safety and accurate attendance tracking.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet and check in students at event entrances using campus-issued technology.
  • Monitor event perimeter areas to ensure all attendees are properly checked in.
  • Assist with managing the flow of students into events and direct them to correct entry points.
  • Provide friendly, professional customer service to students.
  • Report attendance concerns or behavioral issues to Analytics or event leads.
  • Set up and break down check-in stations, signage, and event materials.
  • Ensure compliance with all university engagement policies.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a full time on campus student
  • Will be requiring a GPA of 3.0 to be considered for the position.
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to stay alert, focused, and professional in busy or high-energy environments.
  • Comfortable using mobile devices, tablets, and check-in technology (training provided).
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during events.
  • Dependable, proactive, and committed to creating a positive student experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in event staffing or customer service.
  • Familiarity with GCU events and student culture.
  • Interest in analytics, event logistics, or engagement metrics.

Work Schedule:
  • Part-time, hours vary based on event calendar.
  • Evening availability required.
  • Occasional Weekends

Experience/Education:
Grand Canyon University is committed to a student first policy. Therefore, all applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements to be considered for student employment:
  • Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor's program or Master's program.
  • Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
  • Maintain good financial and academic (SAP) standing with the University.

You may be subject to termination if you fall below the minimum requirements.
Pay Rate: Minimum Wage
Anticipated End Date: June 30, 2027
