Job description

Providence Cancer Institute of Oregon is seeking a highly skilled and patient focused Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the comprehensive cancer program in a hybrid role covering both inpatient and outpatient settings located at Providence Franz Clinic and Providence Portland Medical Center. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide longitudinal hematology and oncology care across the continuum while working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.

In the outpatient setting, the Advanced Practice Provider will deliver specialized patient care, performing comprehensive assessments, clinical management, patient education and support, and management of complex treatment plans. In the inpatient setting, Advanced Practice Provider will provide coverage focused on hematology, bone marrow transplant (BMT), and oncology. You will work collaboratively with Hematologists, Medical Oncologists and an experienced, supportive care team that includes Registered Nurses, Patient Navigators, Researchers, Social Workers, Nutritionists, Integrative Medicine, Palliative Care, Clinical Pharmacy, and other allied health professionals. This role is essential to delivering high-quality, patient-centered cancer care.

Position Highlights:
  • Hybrid role: Inpatient and outpatient setting, 2-days inpatient, 2-days outpatient per week
  • Full-time, 1.0 FTE
  • 4, 10-hour weekdays; No nights, weekends, or call
  • Inpatient coverage specific to hematology, BMT, and oncology populations
  • Collaborative, team-based practice within a comprehensive cancer program
Qualifications:
  • Nurse Practitioner or Physician Associate (NP or PA-C)
  • Minimum of 2 years of Hematology/Oncology experience as an Advanced Practice Provider
  • Demonstrated commitment to compassionate, evidence-based cancer care
  • Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner (AOCNP) or equivalent for Physician Associate required within 12 months of hire
