Miscellaneous Steel Erector Foreman – Metalcrafters NC

Metalcrafters NC is hiring a Miscellaneous Steel Erector Foreman to lead and coordinate our installation crews in the field. This role is responsible for overseeing the installation of non-structural steel components while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

What You’ll Do
  • Supervise and coordinate installation of miscellaneous steel components (stairs, handrails, ladders, platforms, etc.)
  • Read and interpret blueprints and installation drawings
  • Lead crews, assign tasks, and manage daily job site operations
  • Coordinate with project managers and other trades to maintain workflow
  • Perform and oversee field welding, rigging, and installation processes
  • Troubleshoot installation issues and ensure projects stay on track
  • Ensure proper alignment, fit, and finish of all installations
  • Operate equipment including reach lifts, scissor lifts, and man lifts
  • Use tools such as torches, grinders, plasma cutters, and power tools
  • Enforce all job site safety standards and OSHA compliance
  • Train, mentor, and hold team members accountable to company standards
  • Utilize the Metalcrafters app for job tracking, notes, photos, and daily reporting

Requirements
  • Valid Driver’s License with Real ID
  • OSHA 10 Certification required (OSHA 30 preferred)
  • Proven experience in miscellaneous steel erection and installation
  • Prior foreman or crew leadership experience
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage crews and job site productivity
  • Proficiency with power tools, torches, plasma cutters, and fabrication equipment
  • Welding experience (Stick and MIG) or equivalent field experience
  • Experience with rigging and installation practices
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job specifications
  • Experience operating reach lifts, scissor lifts, and man lifts
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding, outdoor environment
  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs

  • Self-motivated with a positive, can-do attitude
  • Ability to think quickly, problem solve, and make decisions in the field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing demands
