Job description

SUMMARY


The entry-level Electrical Engineer I supports the design and integration of control systems for industrial material-handling solutions and production lines.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


•Creates and maintains controls engineering and design documentation, including sensor/actuator layouts, controls component order lists, electrical drawings, motor lists, etc.


•Cross-references controls components, creates TGW part numbers, and orders necessary controls components in designated software tools (e.g. Navision).


•Assists with controls installation request-for-quote (RFQ) process.


•Provides technical support to Project Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical Installation, Controls Commissioning, and other internal teams involved in installation and commissioning of TGW equipment.


•Specifies, clarifies, and documents the controls interfaces for third-party equipment, while supporting the controls processes.


•Performs other duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS


Education:


Bachelor’s degree in Controls-related field (Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering) or equivalent work experience.


Experience:


Prior internship or full-time engineering experience, preferably in material-handling or industrial environment.


Travel:


Up to 20% travel, as required.


Skills & Abilities:


•Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical principles, with the ability to read e-drawings and AutoCAD drawings.


•Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems


•Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


Physical Requirements:


•Ability to remain stationary at a desk for prolonged periods of time.


•Ability to go to site frequently and move safely around industrial and/or warehouse environment.


•Ability to lift and carry supplies up to 25 pounds at a time.


•Ability to operate computers, tablets, phones, and other electronic devices.


•Ability to communicate with others verbally and in writing, on a frequent basis.


•Ability to tolerate exposure to job site temperature fluctuations due to seasonal weather in geographic region.
