Job description

OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE: Sports Science Technician
PAY RATE: $16.50
HOURS: TBD
LOCATION: St Paul Campus
JOB SUMMARY:The Department of Health and Exercise Science in conjunction with St. Thomas Athletics is searching for student workers to do a variety of fitness assessments, exercise tests, data collection, and athlete rehabilitation with University of St. Thomas Athletes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Exercise testing; this includes, but is not limited to, VO2 max testing, lactate analysis, body composition assessment, and work with POLAR Team Pro System
  • Collection of data to improve athletic performance
  • Direct work with Dr. Paul Mellick (HES) and UST Coaches, Athletes, Training Staff, and Strength and Conditioning Staff

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate information
  • Knowledge of exercise science
  • Ability to use exercise testing equipment
  • UST undergraduate eligible for work/study funding
  • Preferred experience working with clients in a fitness setting
  • Preferred experience in strength and conditioning

ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
