As a Recreation & Integrated Health Coordinator, you will be an integral member of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team dedicated to supporting the recovery and well-being of our patients. In this dynamic role, you will help deliver seamless recreation and integrated health services by coordinating clinic operations, providing administrative support, supervising patients, and facilitating select recreation programs.

Hours:   Two weeks  7 am - 2:30 pm  and then  Two weeks 1:30 pm - 9:00 pm

What you'll be doing:

  • Supervise patients using recreation and fitness equipment and facilities, ensuring safe and appropriate use
  • Facilitate orientation groups and other recreation & fitness opportunities
  • Provide general fitness guidance and support to help patients achieve their health and wellness goals
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive, and recovery-oriented environment
  • Coordinate scheduling for Chronic Pain Service and Integrated Health providers, including managing bookings, cancellations, and waitlists
  • Communicate with patients, families, clinicians, and external stakeholders by phone, email, and in person
  • Maintain accurate records, scheduling systems, referral workflows, and communication logs
  • Process billing, invoices, payments, and extended health claims through applicable platforms
  • Support intake processes, program registration, and measurement-based care data entry
  • Monitor recreation and fitness spaces to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety
  • Report and escalate equipment concerns, maintain inventory, and support facility upkeep

What we're looking for:

  • Diploma or post-secondary education in Office Administration, Recreation and Leisure Services, Fitness and Health Promotion, Sport Management, or a related field
  • Minimum two (2) years of related experience in recreation, fitness, health services, or administrative support environments
  • Personal Training or Group Fitness Instruction certification preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a patient-centred approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities
  • Knowledge of fitness equipment use and basic fitness instruction
  • Ability to facilitate group activities and work effectively with diverse client populations
  • Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience with scheduling or practice management software (such as Jane) is an asset
  • Knowledge of billing processes and extended health claim submissions is an asset
  • Understanding of privacy legislation, confidentiality requirements, and PHIPA
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
