Job Description

The Role:

The Controller Integration Engineer (CIE)is responsible forexecuting vehicle software integration standard work to support issue identification, preliminary root cause, software readiness, and issue resolution throughout the vehicle development lifecycle.

This role works closely with Vehicle Software Leads (VSLs), software development teams, quality, Product Quality Engineers, and vehicle integration teams to support software readiness and successful program execution.

A successful CIEdemonstratesstrong technical aptitude, learns quickly, navigates ambiguity, and takes ownership of assigned work while helping solve technical challenges on vehicles.

What You'll Do:

  • Execute Vehicle Software Configuration Management (VeSCoM) processes and support software release activities for assigned vehicles and programs.

  • Plan, execute, and document tests based on the Controls Development Plan (CDP).

  • Support software feature checkout activities aligned with software availability and program milestones.

  • Investigate software and calibration issuesidentifiedduring vehicle integration activities.

  • Create and maintain VeSCoM documentation including release notes, controller ID files, hardware dependencies, and known issues.

  • Document and track software and calibration anomalies using JIRA, GIMS, or related tools.

  • Support software flashing and software update activities throughout vehicle development.

  • Perform preliminary root cause analysis andidentifysystem impacts associated with software and calibration issues.

  • Support collection and analysis of vehicle logs and datarequiredfor issue investigation.

  • Work with software, systems, validation, and quality teams to support issue resolution.

  • Participate in vehicle build events, development testing, buy-off rides, and readiness activities.

  • Support vehicle preparation activitiesrequiredfor integration testing and DVUL execution.

  • Ensure Software Execution fleet vehiclesmaintainvalid, test-ready software configurations and software content.

  • Support software readiness across assigned program(s).

  • Escalate technical concerns and risks throughappropriate programchannels.

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in one of the following areas Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering

  • Must be graduating between Dec 2026 - June 2027

  • Must have a valid US drivers license

  • Must be able to work in Southeast Michigan

  • Able to work fulltime, 40 hours per week

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in automotive systems, controls, software integration, or related technical areas.

  • Understanding ofvehicle electrical architecture and major automotive systems.

  • Experience with automotive communication networks including CAN, LIN, or Ethernet.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to legallyoperatea motor vehicle.

  • Experience with vehicle software integration and validation activities.

  • Formula SAE, EcoCAR, or other Automotive related experience/clubs

  • Software-in-the-loop test environment experience

  • Hardware-in-the-loop test environment experience, including dSPACE ControlDesk MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow experience

  • Vehicle Dynamics / CarSim or other computer aided test experience

  • Communication protocol and tool experience (Automotive Ethernet, CAN, LIN diagnostics, ETAS INCA, Intrepid NeoVI/VSpy/Comet/Galaxy, Vector CANoe/CANape tools)

Work Arrangement:
