V2X Aerospace Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Test Engineering section of our Hardware Engineering team located in Indianapolis, IN. This position is responsible for the design, improvement, repair, and maintenance of test equipment in support of a manufacturing & depot level repair facility.
The ideal candidate should have experience supporting all aspects of digital, analog, and RF test design as a member of a multi-disciplined engineering team. The successful candidate will possess technical ability in the development, design, and test verification capabilities. The candidate will also possess expertise in developing test specifications for equipment under test and troubleshooting the associated equipment under test. This includes supporting multiple military programs. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, organized, self-starting, capable of multi-tasking, and working effectively with other test engineers and integrated product team members.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include supporting implementation of new production and repair processes for military hardware, providing technical support for assemblers and inspectors working on the production floor, and assisting in the generation of technical documents, such as test procedures and process instructions, with the support of subject matter experts.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
  • Minimum 1-3 years of electronics experience with strong technical background
  • Experience/familiarity using bench top test equipment (DMM, Oscilloscope, Function Generator, Signal Generator, Frequency Counter, Power Meter, Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer)
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools used for most repairs
  • Basic ability in reading schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Proven ability and willingness to use analytical tools to analyze and simulate hardware testing methods prior to program execution
  • Familiarity with HW/SW integration and test processes and procedures
  • Basic MS office skills (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to interface with persons of multiple disciplines and job functions, including test software engineers, electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, program managers, production personnel, and outside vendors
  • Ability to work in a process-oriented organization
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and apply decision making skills with minimal supervision
  • Detail oriented, organized, self-starting, capable of multi-tasking, and team player are all required skills for this role
  • This position requires the ability to access systems that contain information restricted to s based on certain Federal Government contractual requirements
  • Some travel may be required

Desired Skills:
  • Programming experience with C++, C#, and PowerShell are strongly desired
  • Programming experience with Visual Basic and other languages in general is a plus
  • Experience in test automation is a strong plus
  • Background in digital, analog, and RF theory is a plus
  • Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills with ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome difficult technical challenges
  • Proven ability to function as a Test Lead is a plus

Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a closely related STEM field (experience in lieu of degree acceptable)
