What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC's team, the Senior Analyst, IT Quality Assurance is responsible for developing and executing test scenarios and scripts for functional system integration and acceptance testing across multiple platforms, in compliance with established controls, standards, policies, and procedures. The role utilizes a solid understanding of business dynamics to define and document criteria for testing and present results following the defined testing methodology. The Senior Analyst, IT Quality Assurance troubleshoots problems and provides technical training to less experienced employees, maintaining test system configurations and executing test scripts using test tools for compliance with testing standards. The role uses judgement and autonomy on day-to-day tasks, exercising considerable latitude in analyzing and resolving complex problems during test execution, or escalating issues and concerns. The role proactively addresses problems within the scope of responsibility and identifies areas for improvements.

How you'll succeed

  • Execute Testing Activities: Analyze, define, and translate business and functional requirements, use cases, designs, and specifications into testing requirements. Manage and coordinate end to end testing activities for small and large projects across many teams with both onsite and offshore resources

  • Relationship Building: Respond to client's inquiries and requests, providing professional high quality customer service for the assigned portfolio to ensure client satisfaction. You will liase and interact with clients as part of the daily management of your portfolio technology to support objectives or address issues

  • Collaboration: Work with test leads, business, business analysts and development teams to establish test plans, standards, and procedures that add value to software project and satisfy the constraints of the project by reviewing project documentation.

  • Monitor & Reporting: Monitor project adherence to quality standards and track/provide progress testing status reporting as needed. Adhere to CIBC's processes through all phases of the software development life cycle-ensure test activities are compliant to test standards. Recognizing, anticipating, and resolving testing activities challenges during the testing life cycle.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience for atleast 2-3 years in Software Testing Life Cycle - Agile or Waterfall methodologies, QA approaches, Tools, Techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational, or process problems.

  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics or similar.

  • You understand that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.
