The Position:
AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Laborer-Junior. The hourly range of this position is $21.00/hour. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Position Background:
The Guardian Software Development team is responsible for periodic releases of the components that make up the Guardian Software Suite. They will provide safety critical engineering services for the Atlantic Test Range Guardian systems. The team provides engineering services to include Software Engineering, Independent Software and System Testing, System Fabrication, Information Technology (IT), Financial Management Analyst support, etc. to the Guardian program. Software Engineers support will include but not limited to design, development, documentation and testing of all components that make up the Guardian System software suite. The team will provide location site surveys, site installations and customer support services along with system component acquisition, publication development and configuration management.
A typical day as a Laborer-Junior may include:
  • Performs entry-level maintenance and repair actions on infrastructure, equipment, systems, shelters and non-NAVFAC facilities
  • Completes tasks that are reviewed by more experienced/senior facilities maintenance technicians
  • Assists senior facilities maintenance technicians with diagnosing infrastructure problems

Must-haves:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with inventory management (tracking, monitoring, ordering products/parts, etc.)
  • The ability to proactively seek out work
  • Willingness to take direction and provide superior customer service
  • Excellent time management skills and proven dependability
  • Strong attention to detail during tasking
  • Experience working with desktop computers
  • Minimum clearance required to apply (candidates who do not currently hold the required clearance will not be considered): N/A
  • Additional Accesses: The ability to obtain and maintain the DoD security clearance eligibility and/or additional security access requirements necessary to perform the duties of the position, as required by the contract

Desired Skills:
  • Experience with functional and verification testing of each Guardian system

The employee is required to stand, walk and/or move throughout the workday, often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs.
