Software Test Engineer

Location: Johnson City, TN (Onsite in the beginning, then Hybrid setup eventually)

Employment Type: Contract (initial contract is one year – possibility of conversion to Perm employment)

Industry: Medical Device Manufacturing

Pay Rate: $29 per hour (W2)

NOTE: Not open to C2C (Corp-to-Corp). No visa sponsorship or visa transfer is being offered. Candidates must be authorized to work in the US, now and at any time in the future.

Job Summary:

We are actively seeking an entry-level Software/Firmware Test Engineer to join our team in Johnson City, TN. This is a contract position where you will collaborate with an international project team to develop and release cutting-edge industrial automation products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute functional tests on industrial automation products.
  • Collaborate with team members to analyze requirements and define test cases.
  • Evaluate the testability of requirements and provide feedback.
  • Identify potential technical issues or design flaws.
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal stakeholders including developers, support staff, technical writers, project managers, and QA personnel.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Industrial Automation and motion systems. Industrial Automation systems experience, like Motion controls and I/OS is a great plus.
  • Proficiency in C# programming and a willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge in testing firmware for complex embedded runtime environments.
  • Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic.
  • Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
