Job description

Barge Design Solutions is seeking an Electrical Engineering Associate to join our Facilities Engineering Solution Center. This role supports the design and development of electrical systems for a diverse portfolio of industrial, commercial, and healthcare projects, contributing to solutions that power critical infrastructure and enhance the built environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, review agencies to provide a comprehensive project report or detailed design.
  • Prepare engineering and design documents using computer assisted engineering and design software to generate 2D and 3D models and plans.
  • Assists in the analysis or preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, permits, and designs for project
    Perform lighting photometric designs.
  • Perform electrical calculations for voltage drop and cable sizing, electrical service sizing, panelboard, and electrical equipment designs.
  • Perform electrical studies including short circuit analysis, coordination, and arc flash studies.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines including civil, architectural, structural, and mechanical engineering to complete detailed designs.
  • Participate in project site visits with other project team members as needed.
  • Participate in Construction Administration of projects by reviewing submittals, assisting engineers in responding to requests for information from contractors.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
  • Able to learn and implement code requirements on projects including National Electrical Code, standard operations, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as requested
