Job Description
General Role
Provide technical support in the development and production of military soft goods such as upholstery, cushions and parachutes.
Specific Responsibilities
  • Assist in the design and development of aircraft and military vehicle seating upholstery and cushions
  • Train Production department leads in the operation of these industrial sewing machines: Binding machine, Serger, Walking Foot, Double Needle, Class 7 and Zig Zag
  • Establish time standards
  • Develop flat patterns and templates for soft goods
  • Work with quality to resolve production issues and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings as they pertain to sewing
  • Develop processes for cutting and bonding non-rigid polyurethane foams
  • Program fabric cutters and sewing machines

  • 6+ years' sewing experience
  • Military standards for sewing materials
  • Manufacturing using contact adhesives
  • Production line setup and line balancing for workflow processing
  • Laser cutting fabrics
  • CNC fabric cutters
  • Nesting software for soft goods
