POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sewing Machine Operator Level I performs basic sewing operations using standard industrial sewing machines to assemble small garment components and simple seams. Operations involve short, straight stitching and limited curves with low complexity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate single-needle sewing machines to assemble small garment parts.
  • Sew together two pieces of fabric using straight stitching.
  • Perform sewing operations with:
    • Straight seams up to 30 inches
    • Curved seams up to 10 inches
  • Operate basic serge machines (3-thread) for small components such as flaps.
  • Perform operations on bartack machines, button machines, and eyelet machines.
  • Use double-needle machines for simple items such as tabs and small bags.
  • Maintain production quality standards.
  • Report machine malfunctions and maintain safe operations.

Machine Types
