Job description

Position: Data QA
Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite)
Duration: 12+ Months Contract

W2 only

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of experience in data engineering, database QA, or a related role.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, and relational database management systems (RDBMS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, write, and execute test cases using Python and SQL.
  • Validate data pipelines, database changes, and deployment scripts.
  • Execute manual and automated test cases, record results, and track defects through closure.
  • Analyze test results and communicate findings clearly to development teams.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to understand data transformations, deployment scripts, and business logic.
  • Create and refine test cases aligned with business requirements and data transformation rules.
  • Support unit testing by designing and sharing relevant test scenarios.
  • Validate database objects, including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Perform data validation and reconciliation checks across systems.
  • Ensure adherence to data quality standards, testing best practices, and documentation expectations.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to write SQL queries for data validation.
  • Ability to develop basic test scripts in Python.
  • Understanding of database objects, including tables, views, indexes, and stored procedures.
  • Understanding of data validation and testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with test case design, test execution, and bug/defect tracking processes.
