You as a VDC Services Specialist will:

Service Delivery

  • Conduct reality capture operations including laser scanning, drone capture, and 360 photography across active client sites, with consistent attention to safety, access protocols, and survey-grade accuracy targets.

  • Process field data using Leica Cyclone, CloudWorx, ReCap, Cintoo, CUPIX, and adjacent platforms, producing registered and quality-checked point clouds staged for downstream production.

  • Create 2D and 3D as-built deliverables from point clouds using Revit, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, with attention to template compliance, level-of-development discipline, and deliverable package consistency.

  • Contribute to visualization outputs including renderings, walkthroughs, and 4D logistics using Twinmotion, Enscape, or D5 as the engagement requires.

  • Support FM and asset information delivery workflows including COBie and asset tagging pipelines on engagements that extend to handover or facility management.

Engagement and Scope

  • Work alongside the engagement lead to scope incoming requests, contribute estimates of time and effort, and shape the deliverable list before scope is locked.

  • Track billable hours against scope in the project accounting system, surface scope variations early, and flag potential change-order conditions to the engagement lead.

  • Support proposal preparation, including scope narratives, sample deliverable references, and capability descriptions.

Client and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Interact directly with internal and external clients at the working level: site walks, capture-day coordination, deliverable handovers, and technical clarifications.

  • Maintain documentation hygiene across the engagement, including capture logs, processing notes, and the deliverable register.

  • Escalate quality concerns, client friction, and engagement risk early, with proposed mitigation where possible.

Deliverable Quality

  • Apply VDC Services internal quality standards across reality capture accuracy, point cloud registration, model authoring, and deliverable formatting.

  • Conduct self-review and peer review of deliverables before submission.

  • Contribute to the deliverable templates library and to lessons-learned documentation after each engagement.

Capability Building

  • Maintain currency on the reality capture and processing tool stack, including hardware refresh cycles and software updates.

  • Participate in service-line development by testing new tools and validating new workflows.

  • Mentor and support entry-level Specialists, Coordinators on rotation, and students on assignment.

  • Pursue relevant certifications, including Transport Canada RPAS, Leica certifications, Autodesk certifications, and BuildingSMART.

This is the right role for you if:

  • Two to four years of relevant experience, including direct point-cloud-to-BIM production.

  • University degree or technology diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, Geomatics, or a related field.

  • Independent operation across reality capture and as-built modeling on routine engagements.

  • Experience operating in a billable environment or comparable scope-tracked context.

  • Demonstrated ownership of deliverables from scope through handover.

  • Proficient in Autodesk Construction Cloud, Revit, AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D, and Navisworks.

  • Experience with one or more of Leica Cyclone, CloudWorx, ReCap, Cintoo, CUPIX, and Matterport.

  • Working comfort with Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.

  • High level of knowledge interpreting design and construction drawings.

  • Understanding of openBIM and information management standards, including ISO 19650.

  • Strong organization, time management, and a habit of clean documentation.

  • Self-motivated, curious, and direct in communication.

  • The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000.
