Job description

Responsibilities: ย 

  • Providing multifaceted subject matterย supportย inย regulatory compliance processes of NEPA, Clean Water Act Endangered Species Act, and other federal, state, and local environmental regulations.ย 

  • Assistingย in the preparation ofย National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impact Statements for transportation or other infrastructureย (water, wastewater, etc.)ย projectsย in accordance withย Texas Department of Transportation or other state/federal agency standards.ย 

  • Performing/supportingย environmental technical studies and report preparation, asย appropriate.ย 

  • Assistingย inย public and agency outreach.ย 

  • Working with an interdisciplinary team of technical specialistsย 

  • Assistingย with proposals and business developmentย 

  • Stays up to date on regulatory changes andย establishย working relationships with regulatory officialsย 

  • Participate in client functions, tradeย showsย and conferencesย 

  • Conductย and supportย environmental site assessments (Phase I/II ESA studies, TxDOT ISAs, etc.)ย 

  • Support andย assistย water resources and wetland delineations, biological habitatย assessmentsย and other support fieldwork activitiesย 

ย Qualifications: ย 

  • Bachelor'sย and/orย Master'sย degree inย biological sciences,ย environmental sciences, transportation planning, environmental planning, geography,ย GISย or similar discipline/closely related fieldย 

  • Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel,ย PowerPointย and Projectย 

  • Candidate must provide research andย writingย examples, as applicableย 

ย Preferred Additional Qualificationsย 

  • 1-3 years of related consulting or agency experience preferredย 

  • Competence withย ArcGISย and Python programming languageย 

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsย 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsย 

  • Communicate and coordinate effectively with the project team and clientsย 

  • Valid driver's license isย requiredย
