Job description

THIS JOB IS LOCATED AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER NATURE OF WORK To provide comprehensive and efficient transportation for the Town's elderly and/or disabled residents. This includes driving a handicapped accessible van and/or bus up to 20 passengers. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Provides transportation of passengers for scheduled activities at Senior Center, shopping trips, daily lunch program, medical appointments, etc.

Routes change on a daily basis. Drives a handicapped accessible van and/or bus up to 20 passengers. Responsible for safe operation of handicap accessible lift when necessary.

No hands-on care required, people using this service are required to be independent or provide a companion. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Routine vehicle maintenance, i.e. checking and putting in oil and other vehicle fluid levels, reporting problems of a mechanical nature to garage mechanic, and light routine cleaning of the buses, etc

SUPERVISED BY Human Services Directors or departmental designee.
