Scope / Overview
The Field Operator II is responsible for safely operating oil and gas production facilities and wells while ensuring reliable production, equipment integrity, and regulatory compliance. The position focuses on daily field operations, equipment surveillance, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and supporting well intervention activities. Operators will work closely with maintenance and operations personnel to maximize uptime while maintaining ExxonMobil's safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate wells and production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine surveillance of wells, facilities, and surface equipment.
  • Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions when appropriate.
  • Perform basic mechanical maintenance as an Equipment Care Technician.
  • Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs and communicate operating conditions during shift turnover.
  • Collect production samples and perform field laboratory testing.
  • Support emergency response activities and incident reporting.
  • Monitor alarms and report equipment or shutdown system deficiencies.
  • Assist Wellwork personnel during intervention operations.
  • Diagnose production issues before requesting Wellwork support.
  • Ensure wellheads and production equipment are properly prepared before intervention activities.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings and maintain excellent housekeeping and safety standards.

Required Qualifications
  • Previous Oil & Gas production operations experience.
  • Previous Salt Water Disposal (SWD) experience.
  • Experience operating production wells and facilities.
  • Strong understanding of pipeline operations.
  • Knowledge of production equipment and well diagnostics.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong safety mindset with demonstrated commitment to safe operations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures.
  • Familiarity with applicable operating regulations and commercial agreements.
