Job description

Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Safety Officer (Traveling) in Cheyenne, TX for a direct hire opportunity with our client. As a trusted partner in the construction industry, we connect top talent with top companies across the United States. 

Job Type: Direct Placement
Pay: $52,240 to $72,800 Per Year BOE

Responsibilities:
  • Job Site Presence – Maintain a daily on-site presence during normal construction hours.
  • Safety Program Management – Implement and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs for data center construction.
  • Safety Documentation – Create and manage Site Specific Safety Plans (SSSP), Job Hazard Analyses (JHA), and Pre-Task Safety Analyses (PTSA)
  • Regulatory Compliance – Ensure adherence to OSHA and local safety regulations; conduct regular job site inspections.
  • Incident Investigation – Investigate accidents, near-misses, and hazards; recommend corrective actions.
  • Training & Compliance – Provide safety training and ensure workers meet required certifications.
  • Communication & Reporting – Serve as the primary safety contact, report incidents, and maintain documentation.
  • Collaboration – Work with project managers and crews to integrate safety into operations.
  • Equipment Oversight – Monitor proper PPE usage and ensure safety equipment is maintained.
  • Specialized Support (Preferred) – Assist with cabling tasks and provide safety insights for data center operations.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, plus one year of practical safety experience in the construction industry.
  • One of these three safety certifications, plus three years of practical safety experience in the construction industry.
  • STSC: Safety Trained Supervisor for Construction
  • CHST: Construction Health and Safety Technician
  • CSP: Certified Safety Professional
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be aware of OSHA safety standards
  • Maybe exposed to heights and loud noises  
  • May need to occasionally climb stairs and/or ladders.  
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, and bending
  • May need to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.
  • Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard.
  • Must be willing and able to travel for this role.
Pay Transparency
The anticipated salary range for this position is $52,240 to $72,800 Per Year, based on relevant factors such as experience, skills, education, internal equity, and geographic location. Final compensation will be determined during the interview process by the hiring authority.
