The Associate Design & Installation Consultant supports the design, measurement, and technical implementation of pharmacy automation systems within hospital and health system environments.  This role is highly technical and detail-oriented, with a strong emphasis on site measurement accuracy, hardware installation planning, CAD drawing review/creation, and infrastructure coordination. While clinical workflow knowledge is valuable, the primary focus of this role is ensuring technical readiness, spatial accuracy, and installation precision for pharmacy automation solutions.  The ideal candidate combines analytical thinking, technical drafting skills, and a foundational understanding of hospital pharmacy environments.

*** This is a high travel position - 70% +

Technical Site Assessment & Measurement (Primary Focus)

  • Conduct detailed on-site field measurements of pharmacy spaces to support automation hardware installations.
  • Validate architectural drawings against real-world site conditions.
  • Create, modify, and interpret 2D CAD drawings for automation layouts.
  • Develop precise installation documentation including: Equipment footprint verification, Elevation and clearance validation, Structural and load-bearing assessments, Power, data, and network drop locations
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, facilities, and IT teams to ensure installation readiness.
  • Translate field measurements into accurate technical layouts for engineering and project management teams.

CAD & Technical Design Support

  • Utilize CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent) to: Produce layout drawings, Update as-built drawings, Support design revisions
  • Interpret construction documents, reflected ceiling plans, and MEP drawings.
  • Maintain version control of technical documentation.
  • Assist in developing standardized measurement and design templates.

Hardware & Installation Support

  • Support pre-installation readiness reviews.
  • Participate in site readiness calls and coordinate punch list resolution.
  • Provide on-site support during hardware installation phases.
  • Ensure all technical specifications align with manufacturer and safety standards.
  • Document post-installation site validation and equipment placement accuracy.

Clinical & Workflow Collaboration (Secondary Emphasis)

  • Assist senior consultants in gathering high-level pharmacy workflow information.
  • Observe medication distribution processes to ensure layout supports operational needs.
  • Provide basic input on automation placement relative to workflow efficiency.
  • Support user acceptance testing and go-live preparation activities.
What you need to succeed
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred not required) in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical, or related field), or Architecture / Construction Management, or Healthcare-related field with technical drafting experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in CAD drafting/design, Technical site measurement, Proficiency in AutoCAD\, Revit or other BIM software (preferred), Microsoft Office Suite, Strong spatial awareness and precision measurement skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings.
  • Willingness to travel (>70%) to hospital sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Healthcare construction environments, Pharmacy automation or medical device installations
  • Familiarity with hospital infrastructure requirements
  • OSHA safety training or construction site safety familiarity.

Salary range for this position is $63,000 - $70,000. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skillset. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including medical / dental / vision insurance, tuition reimbursement, disability, 401k matching (up to 8%).
