Job Title: Cardiac Catheterization Lab/Electrophysiology RN
Location: Decatur, GA
Duration: Total: 820 Days / 117.1 Weeks
Schedule: Full-Time | Four 10-hour shifts per week (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Cardiac Catheterization Lab/Electrophysiology Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. In this high-acuity, fast-paced environment, you’ll provide specialized care to adult and geriatric Veterans undergoing diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. This role is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of our nation’s Veterans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care during cardiac catheterization, interventional cardiology, and electrophysiology procedures.

  • Assist in procedures such as pacemaker/defibrillator implantation and recovery care in the observation unit.

  • Collaborate with cardiologists and the Cath Lab team to monitor patient status and intervene as needed.

  • Perform:

    • IV insertion, venipuncture, central and arterial line access

    • Hemodynamic and EKG monitoring

    • ACLS protocol during emergencies

    • Setup and monitoring of external pacemakers, IABP, Impella devices, and atherectomy systems (Rotoblator/CSI)

  • Accurately document patient care using CPRS, CART-CL, and WITT systems.

  • Maintain compliance with all VA protocols and clinical standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted RN license (from any U.S. state)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field

  • Minimum 3 years of ICU or Cath Lab experience

  • Recent (within 6 months) practice in high-acuity settings

  • Completion of an accredited Intensive Care/Cath Lab nursing course

  • Moderate Sedation Certification (or equivalent)

  • Current AHA certifications:

    • BLS (Basic Life Support)

    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing or a related field

  • CCRN certification (Critical Care Registered Nurse)

  • Experience with advanced cardiac assistive devices and catheterization technology

  • Previous care experience with COVID-19 positive patients or PUIs
