Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Stepdown/MedSurg.
The unit has a total of 20 beds.
Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:3 in Stepdown and 1:5-6 on the floor.
Candidates must be certified in BLS and ACLS.
Common diagnoses include respiratory issues, weakness, UTI, AKI, and chest pain.
Experience in titrating drips is required.
Common titratable and set rate drips include Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, and Amiodarone.
There is a house supervisor present on the unit.
There are nurse aides available, with a ratio of 2 per shift.
Respiratory therapy equipment such as CPAP and BiPAP is utilized.
Patients are monitored with telemetry, and RNs are trained to read strips.
Shifts occur three nights per week, including weekends.
Holiday shifts will rotate either on evening or day shifts.
There is no call or standby requirement.
A specific dress code will be enforced.
Department-specific orientation will be provided.
Client may cancel up to 2 shifts during the 13-week assignment, and 1 shift for shorter assignments.
The charting system used is EPIC.
