Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Profession: RN (Registered Nurse)
Specialty: Labor and Delivery

Shift: 12-Hour Nights
Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in Labor and Delivery
License: Valid nursing license required
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
Must-Have: Must have experience in L&D, Postpartum, and Gyn
Description:
Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum, and gynecological care.
Stable experience is preferred but not required.
Candidates must be willing to float to the nursery and NICU.
Night shifts are required, with some daytime shifts as well.
Candidates must be willing to work every other weekend and holiday.
Fetal monitors, suction, oxygen, vital signs monitors, and electronic documentation systems will be utilized.
Nursing responsibilities include care of L&D patients during delivery, high-risk patients, and postpartum care for mothers and babies.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2 for L&D, 1:3 for mom/baby couplets, and 1:5-6 for combinations of mom/babies and gynecological cases.
Preferred scrubs are navy blue, or hospital-provided scrubs for L&D.
Three years of experience in L&D with skills in fetal monitoring are required.
Candidates must hold BLS, NRP, and ACLS certifications.
Floating to other units and departments is expected as needed.
