Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift | Little Rock VA Medical Center, AR

Employment Type: W2 - SCA Position
Shift: Night Shift | 7:30 PM - 8:00 AM | ~40 hrs/week (3 x 12-hour shifts)
Location: Little Rock, Arkansas
About This Opportunity
JR Enterprise LCC (JRE), in partnership with the VA Healthcare System, is seeking a dedicated Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) to support Veteran care at the Little Rock VA Medical Center. This position is part of a 6 FTE contract team providing continuous day and night coverage across critical care areas.
This is a long-term contract opportunity (April 2026 - July 2030) offering stability, meaningful work, and the chance to serve a primarily geriatric patient population in a collaborative VA environment.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base Rate: $43.00/hour
  • Health & Welfare (H&W): $4.93/hour (applies to regular hours only)
  • Total Compensation: $47.93/hour
  • Shift Differential: None

  • Paid Sick Leave: Up to 56 hours/year (1 hour accrued per 30 hours worked)

  • Administer medications and treatments (including IV therapy) using VA protocols and BCMA
  • Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Document care accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and care plans
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain compliance with VA policies, Joint Commission standards, and patient safety protocols
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license (U.S.)
  • Minimum 1 year recent Med-Surg experience (within last 3 years)
  • BLS certification (required)
  • ACLS certification (required for acute care settings)
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Strong clinical, communication, and documentation skills
