Overview:
Entry level role sitting in Jersey City, NJ supporting clients of our Futures Derivatives Clearing (FDC) business.
This role's primary focus will be on remediating trade breaks that are the result of our reconciliation process on T+1. Ensuring Futures transactions are reflected accurately in client accounts and on various North American exchanges.
The successful candidate with be able to work effectively within a culture and environment where processes, risks and controls are continuously monitored, and operational risks are escalated on a timely basis.
Coordinating communication and transaction instructions between the trading desk and clearing team. Ensuring the infrastructure and tools are in place to effectively manage risk and service our clients to a high standard.
Responsibilities:
• Work directly with internal stakeholders in the resolution of breaks on T+, adhering to strict SLA's
• Monitor and ensure Futures transactions are cleared correctly and are compliant with internal policies and controls
• Assist in the investigation, documentation and corrective implementation of all required transaction issues
• Aid with the analysis, execution, and stabilization efforts of critical operations functions related to futures clearing
• Anticipate and proactively respond to requests for deliverables from internal and external clients and vendors
• Assist as required for control, risk, daily activities, and transaction services project
• Evaluate moderately complex issues with substantial potential client impact
• Cross-train for various internal roles within the department, and provide back-up coverage for those roles as needed
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications and Skills:
• BS/BA degree or equivalent work experience preferred
• 2-5 years in a related role in finance or operations
• Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a leader who can positively and productively add product impact to both strategic and tactical technology
• Strong, influential communicator who is articulate and concise, with the ability to communicate clearly regarding advanced topics and escalate situations when appropriate Strong risk management and control mindset
• Provides evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated, unique and dynamic situations; draws on diverse range of internal and external sources
• Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
• Proven experience working within a team environment
• Ability to establish and build trust with professionals throughout the business as an advisor and business partner to the organization with a clear client orientation.
• Strong awareness of both external and internal best practice perspectives, maintaining a balanced and fresh viewpoint.
• Ability to conceptualize aspects of the organization's model and its future development.
