Job Description
The Middle Office Derivative (MO) Financial Analyst supports front office derivative desks in the execution and confirmation of transactions, including but not limited to interest rate swaps, xVa swaps, and cross-currency trades. The analyst collaborates with various stakeholders to facilitate both new and existing transactions. Responsibilities include developing reporting tools for various stakeholders, procedures, and processes in partnership with the manager and team members. Ad hock reporting to support audit inquiries and analyzing various derivative data sets.
This entry level Financial Analyst role supports the hedging activities for a number of derivative trading desks in Treasury. The employee will manage the post-trade workflow for hedging derivatives including trade capture, confirmation, clearing, and lifecycle events. The employee will generate daily Profit-and-Loss and market-risk analysis reporting as well as communicate insights to traders. This position is also responsible for building, enhancing, and maintaining the processes used in reporting and analysis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:.
  • Provide any ad hoc reporting needed for various transactions
  • Implement any necessary controls
  • Build, enhance, and maintain reporting analysis tools utilizing Power BI, Excel, SQL and Python
  • Support monitoring and ad-hoc reporting requests by internal risk partners (Audit, Compliance, Asset Liability Management)
  • Respond to various inquiries
  • Leverage quantitative and analytical skills and partner with Operations to identify control improvement and process flow

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • Typically less than one year of related experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Familiarity middle office environments, funding and liquidity
  • Knowledge regarding loan structures, derivatives, and securitizations
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Python, VBA, SQL and other programming skills & experience is a plus
  • Experience designing dashboards and their related data models in Power BI
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Master's degree in applicable field

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 to 4 days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $64,855.00 - $76,300.00
