Job description

Amentum is seeking an Entry Level RF RADHAZ Survey Engineer to join our team providing technical and engineering support to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, located in Dahlgren, VA. The successful candidate will conduct electromagnetic environment (EME) and radio frequency (RF) assessments of Department of Defense (DoD) surface vessels, submarines, and shore facilities to evaluate hazards to ordnance, personnel, and fuel.

This position involves worldwide travel to measure EMEs, analyze data, conduct research, and develop detailed technical reports that provide operational guidance for Fleet personnel. The selectee will also conduct RADHAZ desk-top analyses and develop, maintain, and produce technical documentation in support of ongoing projects.

RF RADHAZ Survey Engineer Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting electromagnetic environment (EME) and radio frequency (RF) assessments for DoD surface ships, submarines, and shore facilities.

  • Performing field measurements, collect and analyze RF data, and prepare detailed technical reports and recommendations.

  • Conducting RADHAZ desktop analyses and evaluations to identify hazards to ordnance, personnel, and fuel.

  • Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including test plans, analytical evaluations, and technical reports.

  • Supporting antenna system verification testing and apply relevant military standards, handbooks, and specifications.

  • Collaborating with other engineers, technicians, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and mission objectives.

  • Travel up to 25% CONUS and occasional OCONUS to conduct site assessments and testing.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Mathematics.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (at a minimum, must receive/be approved for an interim Secret clearance to start).Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a SECRET Clearance.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to conduct RF measurements.

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience conducting EME or RADHAZ surveys on naval platforms.

  • Experience with data acquisition systems and RF analysis software.

  • Familiarity with Navy electromagnetic environmental effects (E3) testing procedures and safety protocol
