About The Role
- Design and develop neutral beam injection systems, including ion sources, beam optics, vacuum system and beam dumps
- Design highโvoltage components (100โฏkVโ1โฏMV class systems)
- Develop thermal management solutions for highโpowerโdensity components
- Collaborate with physicists to integrate beam line components in the NB injector
- Prototyping, testing, and commissioning of beamline systems
About You
- Bachelorโs degree in design or mechanical engineering or related field
- Experience with one or more of the following:
- Charged particle beam systems
- Plasma sources (especially ion sources)
- Highโvoltage engineering
- SolidโฏWorks or Catia
- Simulation tools such as COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS, or similar
- 5โ10โฏyears professional experience in an engineering role (design, analysis, test or manufacturing)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with neutral beam injection systems or fusion devices
- Knowledge of RF ion sources or negative ion generation, high power flux dumps, magnetic confinement systems (tokamaks, stellarators)
- Handsโon experience with highโpower test systems and highโvoltage systems
Compensation for this position may include a base salary in the range of $135,000 โ $160,000, with additional elements such as equity participation and performanceโbased rewards.
