SSTAR Research has been a department of Stanley Street Treatment and Resources since 2004. Since its inception, the Research Department has participated in numerous studies, including behavioral and pharmaceutical clinical trials, as well as other research focused on advancing the understanding and treatment of substance use. Our research partnerships provide both professional and intellectual fulfillment through the opportunity to work alongside some of the nation's leading academic researchers. Most importantly, these studies allow us to offer our patients access to cutting-edge, evidence-based treatments at no cost.
The Opportunity
We're seeking a motivated and detail-oriented entry-level Research Assistant to join our team working with participants with substance use disorders. This is an ONSITE/IN OFFICE behavioral research study, NOT wet bench research.
An entry-level Research Assistant position provides an invaluable foundation for individuals interested in clinical research, healthcare, and the sciences. It offers hands-on experience with research methodology, participant interaction, regulatory compliance, data collection, specimen handling, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards. These skills are highly transferable and prepare individuals for advancement into roles such as Research Coordinator, Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, Medical School, Pharmacy School, Public Health, and other graduate or professional programs. Serving as a Research Assistant allows individuals to build practical experience, strengthen their resumes, develop professional networks, and gain a deeper understanding of evidence-based medicine, making it an excellent steppingstone for future educational and career opportunities.
In this research role, you'll support cutting-edge research in collaboration with highly renowned universities. Your work will directly contribute to advancing treatments for opioid use disorder and addiction medicine making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals and communities.

  • BA or BS in psychology/related field or related experience required.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evening hours is required.
  • Previous research experience is preferable, but not required.
  • Knowledge of clinical research procedures and experience conducting diagnostic interviews is preferred.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Careful attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Motivated and able to work independently.
  • Moderate computer skills and the ability to work using multiple programs and online databases. Some training is provided.
  • Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of social, racial, and ethnic populations.

HOURLY WAGE RANGE: $20-22/hour
