Job Title: Account Executive, Earned Media Location-Type: Remote (NYC or Chicago preferred; one day onsite per week preferred but not required) Start Date: ASAP  Duration: Contract through EOY, with strong potential to extend or convert Compensation Range: $30-$35/hr  Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, and 401K Visa Sponsorship: Not eligible for visa sponsorship Job Description:
  • This role supports a large consumer banking and financial services account within a high-volume PR agency environment, blending day-to-day account management with a strong earned media focus to drive media coverage and keep client programs running smoothly.
Job Summary
  • Develop and maintain media lists using tools such as Muck Rack or comparable platforms, and conduct ongoing media monitoring to track coverage and inform strategy
  • Draft sharp, targeted pitch notes and conduct media outreach to support earned media campaigns across consumer and financial services verticals
  • Manage day-to-day account operations including agendas, recaps, and timelines to keep multiple workstreams on track simultaneously
  • Support program management across a large, cross-functional team, communicating proactively with internal stakeholders and contributing across up to five active workstreams
  • Prepare and deliver client-facing updates verbally and in writing, maintaining a calm and professional presence in fast-paced or high-pressure situations
  • Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot, along with Google Slides and Microsoft Office, to produce polished deliverables quickly
  • Contribute to team culture as the most junior team member, demonstrating a collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset
Minimum Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of PR agency experience, with at least 1 year focused on earned media (not brand or paid media buying)
  • Demonstrated experience drafting pitch notes, building media lists, and supporting media outreach campaigns
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present confidently to clients
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume, same-day deliverables across multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort operating in a highly collaborative, feedback-rich team environment with consistent overcommunication expectations
  • Experience working on large internal teams (15-plus people) and navigating communications across multiple workstreams
  • Experience supporting consumer lifestyle or financial services clients at a PR agency
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (including SharePoint) and Google Slides
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Muck Rack or comparable media intelligence platforms for list building and monitoring
  • Exposure to data-driven or regulatory communications in a consumer-facing context
  • Local to a major metro area (NYC or Chicago preferred) with ability to go onsite one day per week if a contract-to-hire conversion occurs
