Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Media Relations Coordinator to provide support to their Communications team. This role will assist with daily media relations activities, including tracking coverage, managing media requests, preparing reports, and supporting communications initiatives.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and interested in gaining experience within a fast-paced communications environment. Candidates with experience in media relations, public relations, nonprofit communications, public affairs, or journalism are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the communications team with daily media relations activities and project coordination.
- Monitor news coverage and compile daily media summaries for internal stakeholders.
- Manage incoming media inquiries and interview requests while ensuring timely follow-up.
- Assist with maintaining media lists, press materials, calendars, and internal communications resources.
- Help prepare media reports by tracking coverage, metrics, and campaign performance.
- Support scheduling needs and coordination across the communications team.
- Assist with communications projects, including research, reporting, and administrative support.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure communications initiatives stay organized and on schedule.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience supporting media relations, public relations, communications, journalism, public affairs, political campaigns, or nonprofit organizations.
- Experience monitoring media coverage, creating news clips, and compiling reports.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
- Experience with media monitoring tools or platforms is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Spanish language skills are a plus.

- Contract length: Through the end of September with potential extension through December based on budget approval
