About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious journalist with a proven ability to deliver exclusive, high-impact stories based on original on-the-ground and investigative reporting.  As an Exclusives Reporter, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and breaking news that drives the national conversation.

Working closely with editors and colleagues, you will cultivate sources, pursue investigative leads, conduct interviews, and produce compelling, accurate journalism under tight deadlines. This role requires excellent news judgment, persistence, creativity, and the confidence to chase stories wherever they lead.

About What You'll Do

  • Generate original exclusive story ideas on a daily basis.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of sources across multiple sectors.
  • Conduct interviews, research, and investigations to uncover exclusive stories.
  • Produce engaging, accurate, and legally sound copy to tight deadlines.
  • Break news across a wide range of subjects including politics, crime, entertainment, lifestyle, business, human interest, and trending topics.
  • Monitor developing news, court filings, public records, social media, and industry contacts for emerging stories.
  • Work collaboratively with editors, photographers, video teams, and social media producers.
  • Travel for reporting assignments when required.
  • Ensure all reporting meets the highest editorial, legal, and ethical standards.
  • Contribute to follow-up coverage, enterprise features, and longer-term investigative projects.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in digital, newspaper, magazine, television, or multimedia journalism.
  • Demonstrated track record of publishing exclusive, agenda-setting stories.
  • Outstanding reporting, interviewing, and writing skills.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing, verification, and fact-checking.
  • Ability to work quickly while maintaining exceptional accuracy.
  • Experience covering breaking news in a fast-paced newsroom.
  • Excellent news judgment and editorial instincts.
  • Comfortable juggling multiple stories and competing deadlines.
  • Knowledge of media law, ethics, and editorial standards.
  • Experience obtaining public records and working with legal documents is advantageous.
  • Multimedia, video, podcast, or social media reporting experience is a plus.
