Playful Pups Retreat in Elizabethtown, PA is seeking a friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic Front Desk Receptionist / Guest Services Specialist to join our team - either full-time or part-time. In this role, you'll provide exceptional customer service to our clients while checking their pets in and out of our resort and helping create an outstanding experience for every pet parent and dog we serve.

What You'll Do as a Front Desk Receptionist
As a key member of our team, you'll play an essential role in ensuring every client and pet has a positive experience. When customers call, message us, or stop by, you'll greet them with warmth, professionalism, and enthusiasm.

  • Escorting dogs to and from lobby areas during drop-off and pick-up

  • Maintaining clear communication with our pet care team and pet parents
  • Providing Disney- and Chewy-level customer service to every client interaction

Work Schedule & Shift Details
We are hiring for roles at both of our locations, each with slightly different schedules.
Hershey Road Location (Daycare & Training)
Morning shifts:
  • Part-Time: 6:15 AM - 10:15 AM
  • Full-Time: 6:15 AM - 2:15 PM
Evening shifts:
  • Part-Time: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Full-Time: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Some Sundays from May through September will be required to support Splashpad rentals.
Milton Grove Road Location (Overnight Lodging)
Morning shifts:
  • Part-Time: 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • Full-Time: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Evening shifts:
  • Part-Time: 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM
  • Full-Time: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
This location requires the ability to work:
  • Every other weekend (non-negotiable)
    • Saturdays: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
    • Sundays: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Some holidays

Experience in a pet boarding or dog daycare facility is a plus, but not required. Previous customer service experience is also helpful - we're happy to train the right person!

Physical Requirements
The physical demands listed below reflect what is required to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. Team members must be able to stand for extended periods and demonstrate the ability to sit, bend, twist, carry, or lift up to 50 lbs. This role requires regular use of phones and/or headsets, typing and writing, and clear vision to read printed materials and computer screens. Hearing and speech are required for effective communication in person and over the phone.
Safely handling dogs of all sizes is an essential part of the position and may include managing dogs that pull or jump. Safety is a top priority at our facility, and all team members are expected to follow established policies and procedures at all times.
