We are seeking a motivated Energy Analyst (Intern/Entry Level) with strong analytical capabilities and an interest in building systems, energy performance, and automation. This role is ideal for candidates with backgrounds in engineering, computer science, or data analytics who want to apply technical skills to real-world building performance challenges.This role offers the opportunity to work on some of NYC's most iconic and complex buildings-balancing practical solutions with high-performance design goals.

Responsibilities
  • Gather, organize and perform analysis on large data sets for complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Perform field survey to document existing systems, configurations and energy consumption pathways.
  • Study and understand mechanical, electrical, lighting and automation systems.
  • Study and evaluate energy consumption and costs as it relates to building energy efficiency.
  • Prepare detailed narratives describing means and methods used in calculations.
  • Perform statistical analysis of datasets to validate calculation conclusions.
  • Work with senior staff to evaluate economic factors to be considered in proposed energy efficiency projects.
  • Contribute to retro commissioning, energy audits, and existing building performance evaluations.
  • Learn and apply relevant codes, standards and compliance frameworks, including LL87, LL97, NYC Mechanical Code, and Energy Conservation Code.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering or other related fields. (or in progress).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SQL, Python, or comparable analytical tools.
  • Ability to perform field work, including walking job sites, carrying field instruments, and visiting facilities in the greater NYC region.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with building decarbonization and compliance strategies under NYC's climate legislation.
  • Knowledge of controls optimization, sequences of operation, and BAS upgrades.
