Job Description:

Purpose

To ensure new supplier introduction, new supplied product qualification and general Supplier QA requirements are satisfied including ongoing supplier quality performance

Roles and Responsibilities

New Supplier Approval

Supporting Procurement department to conduct Management system and Process audits to qualify new suppliers during the selection process

Supplier NPI

Manage suppliers through New Product Introduction, managing project deadlines, Supplier APQP and PPAP approval

Ongoing Supplier Approval

Schedule and conduct regular Management system and Process audits to maintain supplier approval based on supply risk

Supplier development and training

Deploy Astemo Supplier Quality Manual, and conduct training to develop suppliers to attain IATF 16949/VDA 6.3 were required

Supplier Visits

Attend supplier visits as required by the business - Audits, Development and corrective/preventive action implementation follow up as required by the business

Supplier / Astemo interface

Be the voice of Astemo to suppliers and the voice of suppliers into Astemo for all related Quality topics

Supplier Quality KPI & Reporting

Monitor and report Supplier Quality KPI's and work with suppliers to improve their performance and reporting results within Astemo

Supplier corrective action

Liaise with suppliers and Astemo internally to manage Corrective and preventive action

Supplier Change management

Manage QA related tasks through all supplier changes

Supplier defects

Manage supplier rejects as required by the business

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Knowledge

An in-depth knowledge of automotive standards and quality techniques and their application, especially IATF 16949 and APQP tools such as control plans, process flow, FMEA, SPC, R&R, PPAP and supplier audit/development.

Qualifications

  • HNC / HND Electrical / Mechanical Engineering as a minimum.
  • Qualified IATF/VDA 6.3 auditor

Previous Experience

  • 3 years' experience in a similar role, ideally gained within automotive. We would consider a mechanical, electronics or high-volume manufacturing assembly background.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
