Heavy-Duty Tow Truck Driver (CDL-A)
Location: Saco, ME

Schedule
  • Standard 40-hour work week
  • Weekend availability required

What You'll Do
As a Heavy-Duty Tow Driver, you'll safely operate heavy-duty wreckers, rollbacks, and recovery vehicles with a GVWR exceeding 26,000 pounds. You'll respond to roadside emergencies, transport commercial vehicles and equipment, and deliver outstanding customer service while representing our company professionally.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Safely perform heavy-duty towing, recovery, transport, and roadside assistance services
  • Complete scheduled pickups and deliveries efficiently and on time
  • Respond professionally and calmly to customers during stressful situations
  • Conduct DOT pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, trip sheets, and required documentation
  • Utilize GPS and mapping tools to plan efficient travel routes
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch throughout each shift
  • Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and traffic laws
  • Complete TowBook documentation accurately and promptly
  • Report vehicle maintenance concerns immediately
  • Keep assigned equipment clean, organized, and inspection-ready
  • Safely handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials when required
  • Complete administrative paperwork in a timely manner
  • Assist with additional operational duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Valid CDL-A
  • Doubles/Triples endorsement
  • No automatic transmission restriction
  • Current DOT Medical Card
  • Clean driving record
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently while remaining a dependable team member
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call schedule
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hazmat endorsement
  • Tanker endorsement
  • Previous towing, recovery, heavy haul, or roadside assistance experience
