Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer I to join an engineering team focused on the design and development of industrial tools and machinery used in pipe, tube machining, and welding applications. This entry-level role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer with hands-on experience in mechanical systems who is eager to grow technically and professionally. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering, production, manufacturing, product management, service, and repair teams to troubleshoot challenges and develop innovative mechanical solutions
- Create detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings, tolerance analyses, and documentation in accordance with ASME Y14.5M-2009 standards using SolidWorks CAD software
- Design mechanical tools, fixtures, machine components, and subassemblies
- Support engineering projects involving bill of materials (BOM) structure, material selection, strength of materials, thermodynamic conditions, coatings, fastening methods, manufacturing processes, and cost-conscious tolerance design
- Assist in the design and specification of electromechanical systems, including AC/DC motors, servo motors, solenoids, and actuators
- Contribute to pneumatic and hydraulic system design, including cylinders, valves, regulators, hoses, and fittings
- Maintain accurate BOMs, revisions, and component data within an ERP system
- Participate in hands-on prototype assembly, testing, and troubleshooting in an R&D environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned while upholding company core values
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in mechanical design, drafting, fabrication, assembly, or testing of mechanical systems or tools (internships or co-op experience acceptable)
- Proficiency or familiarity with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, complete work
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, collaborative team environment
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
