CED's current salary range for this role is $23.50-28.75/hour. At CED, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, location and geography. In addition to base salary, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program. JOB SUMMARY:

The Inspector supports the Quality Control Supervisor and/or Quality Assurance Manager with all aspects related to control and inspection, involving but not limited to: Measuring parts with the appropriate and applicable measurement instrument, conducting visual inspection of parts per governing documents, and supporting compliance with customer specifications, internal quality system, regulatory requirements, and applicable laws.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with CEDโ€™s QMS.
  • Responsible to follow and comply with internal procedures, guidelines, and policies.
  • Responsible for completing inspection activities per applicable documentation and requirements:
  • Applies applicable measuring techniques with the support of measuring tooling (i.e. callipers, micrometres, etc),
  • Records all required data in applicable forms and systems (i.e. D365)
  • Provides daily reports on completed jobs to supervision.
  • Records inspection time in all applicable systems (Kronos, D365, etc.)
  • Initiates and follows through on non-conformance reports (with the support of supervisor or manager) through closure.
  • Supports the internal audits as required.
  • Supports the corrective actions process as required.
  • Support customer required test witnessing and Exam of Product functions.
  • When delegated, witnesses test, prepare test reports, and acceptance data packages.
  • Responsible for completing delegated activities under the guidance of the Chief Inspector or Quality Supervisor
  • Responsible for completing any other designated and/or delegated activities and responsibilities, directly or indirectly.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Comply with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

EDUCATION:

  • A high school diploma is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years of experience in a first-line quality function, e.g., auditing, quality systems coordination, or inspection.
  • 2+ years of experience in inspection activities on a regulated environment (i.e. AS-9100, ISO-9001, etc.).

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able and capable to interpret blueprints โ€“ GD&T.
  • Able to pass a vision test (including color test).
  • Manual dexterity to manipulate delicate parts and instruments.
  • Comfortable interacting with customer quality representatives and inspectors.
  • Computational skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, D365).
  • Demonstrable intermediate to advanced skills in MS Office
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with Low/High Volume and High Mix configuration.
  • Must be eligible to possess explosive under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic Devices.

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally, and / or a negligible amount

of weight frequently. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Routine use of a computer and extended periods of sitting at a desk.
