Job description

Title: Quality Control Inspector
Department: Quality
Location: Rock Hill, SC (On-Site)
Role Type: Full-Time, Hourly
Reports To: Quality Supervisor
Direction From: Quality Manager
Shift: 2nd
Position Summary
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring products meet all engineering, regulatory, and customer requirements. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret engineering drawings, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions. The Inspector supports one or more production areas by verifying product conformity, documenting inspection results, and actively participating in continuous improvement efforts.
Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, SOPs, and work instructions to understand product requirements
  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections to verify conformance to engineering and quality standards
  • Use appropriate inspection and measurement tools, including tape measures, pressure gauges, torque wrenches, and other required equipment
  • Accurately document inspection and test results on approved forms and systems
  • Photograph accepted product conditions and store images in designated directories
  • Scan, upload, and maintain inspection and testing records in electronic file systems
  • Initiate and process Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs); clearly identify and tag nonconforming or suspect material until dispositioned
  • Verify corrective actions have been implemented and confirm product compliance after rework or repair
  • Communicate quality concerns clearly and professionally with Production, Engineering, and Quality team members
  • Assist with timely resolution of quality issues and support root cause and corrective action activities as requested
  • Coach and support production team members on quality standards and inspection requirements when needed
  • Support the Quality Engineer and Quality Manager with daily tasks, audits, investigations, and special projects
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant inspection area
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the Quality Supervisor or Quality Manager
