Responsibilities for Internal Candidates  
 

Quality Control Inspector

Produce Experience Preferred

  • Enforce Company standards and specifications through the inspection of inbound and outbound product to the warehouse.
  • Minimize food safety risk issues through enforcement of quality control policies and procedures at the point of receiving.
  • Assist receivers with validation of receiving weights and compliance with temperature guidelines. Assist receivers with the enforcement of sell and pack dates policies. Notify and monitor vendor compliance of quality control policies.
  • Ensure that Company is in compliance with all governmental policies and that regulations regarding food safety issues are met. Monitor quality through item specification checks and yield evaluations.
  • Make recommendations to management for the disbursement of distressed product.
  • Maintain records of product spoilage and recap to management.

SKILLS, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Previous wholesale management, and/or retail produce experience required.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of management.
  • Ability to work with and through others to achieve desired results.
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and adhere to strict standards regarding product.
  • Work is performed under typical warehouse conditions. Potential hazards exist with regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, etc. Work environment is hectic and fast-paced. Work area is cold (approx. 36 degrees). Position requires physical activity such as lifting (80 lbs.), standing and walking most of work shift (usually 8 hours), bending, stooping and twisting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Pay Transparency:


Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications, and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).  Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans. *For roles in Washington State: Sick pay and PTO/Vacation pay are accrued based on hours worked and paid holidays are issued at 7-9 days annually.
