ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Oberto team has an opening for the critical position of Quality Assurance Lead. The Quality Assurance Lead assists with the functions of the Quality Assurance Department. Focus on managing nonconforming inventory and testing. Ensures compliance to customer, and company specifications, and regulatory agencies. Supports training and ongoing training of QA techs. Reviews data collection for accuracy and process control. Responds as needed to issue involving safety, Food Safety, and Quality.

SCHEDULE:

  • 1st Shift Hours 4:00am - 12:30pm

WAGE: $27.00 per hour



PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Provide oversight, development and maintenance of quality programs/certifications, systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with policies so that the performance and quality of services conform to established standards and agency guidelines.
  • Provides expertise and guidance in interpreting policies, regulatory and/or governmental regulations, and agency guidelines to assure compliance or certification requirements such as: Kosher, organic, RFA, FT, etc.
  • Works directly with operating entities to provide process analyses oversight on a continuing basis to enforce requirements and meet guidelines.
  • Leads audit and inspection preparation, resolution of audit and inspection findings and liaises with auditing groups and inspectors through all stages of the audits (including food safety & quality programs, SQF, FAT, ISO, appliance UL, Third Party audits, etc.)
  • Coordinates legal requests in support of government investigations or litigations.
  • Ensure the quality assurance programs and policies are maintained and modified regularly.
  • Facilitates uniform standards worldwide and enables best practice sharing, thereby fostering the achievement of the company’s mission globally.
  • Assures that nonconforming product is addressed in a timely manner.
  • Participates in and investigates vendor and/or customer complaints on existing products and non-conformance issues.
  • Provides technical and process direction to Manufacturing and Quality Assurance.
  • Analyze data to identify areas for improvement in the quality system.
  • Participates in cross-functional product teams as the representative for Quality.
  • Draft quality assurance policies, procedures, and forms. Interpret and implement quality assurance standards.
  • Execute programs, correspond effectively, forecast, and respond to problems to minimalize product deviations from established standards.
  • Evaluate adequacy of quality assurance standards.
  • Participates in other plant teams and programs such as HACCP Team, SQF Team, and others as assigned.
  • Monitors Quality Plan, Product Hold, and implements changes to improve operating efficiency.
  • Develops, justifies, and implements manufacturing QA process improvements.
  • Compiles and analyzes test information and QA metrics to determine operating efficiency of process or equipment and to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • SQF Certified Practitioner preferred.
  • HACCP Certified
  • Internal Auditor Trained preferred.
  • 2+ years of Food Safety, Quality Control, Quality Assurance or other regulatory related leadership experience within a USDA or FDA environment
  • Experience implementing and operating GFSI programs (BRC, SQF, etc.) in a food processing environment.
