Border Paving Ltd. is seeking a Quality Control / Survey Technician to support field operations across paving projects and gravel pit activities. This hands on role requires a detail orientated individual who is comfortable working independently and alongside crews and departments in both field and laboratory environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for material testing, survey work, quality tracking, and pit development support.

Job Overview and Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspection and testing of aggregate and asphalt materials in accordance with Alberta Transportation specifications and industry standards
  • Complete accurate testing, maintain detailed records, enter data, and report results promptly
  • Clean, maintain and calibrate testing equipment
  • Assist with asphalt mix design preparation and crusher quality control
  • Perform surveying using Trimble GPS equipment, builder levels and laser levels
  • Process raw survey data using CAD software
  • Survey stockpiles and completed work
  • Assist with gravel pit development, applications and reclamation documentation
  • Train and support field crews with grade control and layout
  • Comply with safe working procedures and company safety practices
  • Maintain a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends and out of town work during the construction season.
