Position Description:
The QA Tester is responsible for validating that software applications function as designed and meet business, technical, and user expectations before deployment. This role serves as a key contributor to software quality by performing structured and exploratory testing, identifying defects, verifying fixes, and ensuring a positive user experience across enterprise applications.
Working as part of an Agile development team, the QA Tester collaborates closely with software developers, business analysts, product owners, scrum teams, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle. The role combines analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset to ensure applications meet functional requirements and quality standards.
The position focuses on manual testing execution, defect management, integration testing, acceptance testing, and quality validation activities across multiple enterprise platforms. The QA Tester plays an important role in helping teams deliver reliable, stable, and user-friendly software while promoting quality throughout the development process.
Operating with a high degree of accountability and ownership, the QA Tester serves as a quality advocate, helping identify risks early, improve testing processes, and support the successful delivery of business-critical technology solutions.
Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, requirements reviews, design discussions, and product demonstrations to provide quality-focused input.
  • Analyze business requirements, user stories, and use cases to develop comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and supporting test data.
  • Perform manual testing activities, including smoke testing, regression testing, exploratory testing, usability testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, and cross-platform validation.
  • Execute test cases and document testing results, outcomes, and observations in accordance with established quality assurance processes.
  • Identify, reproduce, document, and track software defects while providing clear evidence, detailed reproduction steps, and impact assessments.
  • Verify defect resolutions and perform retesting activities to confirm successful implementation of fixes.
  • Communicate testing progress, quality metrics, risks, and release readiness to scrum teams and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other product and technology teams to support system integration testing and ensure end-to-end functionality across platforms.
  • Perform issue triage activities, analyze application behavior, and support rapid identification and resolution of production and pre-production issues.
  • Coordinate and execute regression testing efforts associated with quarterly application releases and major system enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain testing dashboards, reports, and coverage metrics to support project visibility and quality tracking.
  • Partner with test automation resources to identify manual test scenarios appropriate for automation and support expansion of automated regression testing coverage.
  • Review automated testing results and assist with analysis of failures, defects, and testing trends.
  • Coordinate production verification activities and support deployment validation efforts.
  • Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to support testing signoffs and successful software releases.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on testing methodologies, quality standards, and software delivery practices.
