Job description

Purpose:

Supplier quality engineer should lead and follow up supplier issue to close and contain production for all suspect parts. Also, should review supplier’s corrective action and monitor until stable with quality production. Their primary job is to make sure to collaborate with quality control, production, and other departments. The position has to focus on supplier quality improvement and make sure supplier quality is stable on the line.

Key Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):

  • Response and follow up Supplier Quality Issue

- Notify Non-Conforming Report and request to submit Initial and 8D report

- Review 8D for effective corrective and permanent action

  • In-depth knowledge of PPAP/PFMEA/Control Plan
  • Maintain to Manage Suppliers

- Supplier Score Card (NCR, PPM, Delivery compliance, etc.)

- Supplier Process Audit / request and review periodic inspection report and samples.

  • Reporting and follow up OEM and Warranty Issue due to supplier issue
  • Reporting submission (Daily/Weekly/Monthly)
  • Report and monitor to match physical inventory (non-conforming parts) and G-ERP system
  • Quality Process management

- Daily check and maintain Quality Market defect parts to register GMES and to prepare claim

- Supplier register issue follow up and complete

  • IATF 16949 audit preparation (non-conforming procedure by GBPMS)
  • Work closely with Quality Engineers and other Dept. to support plant requirements
  • Support efforts to use inspection data for process improvement.
  • Responsible for proper quality documentation according to customer or internal auditing.
  • Completion of PPAP/ISIR according to plan without delay for supplier 4M/EO.
    1. EO Change Management (Review and approve Supplier PPAP, Follow up with related department’s requirements)
    2. Review and approve supplier’s 4M request. (Mass production 4M change support)
  • Supplier PPM should be managed every month and feedback to supplier.
  • Conduct the Process Control Plan Audit (PCPA) for suppliers to maintain the proper quality level.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge of production processes, quality requirements and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturer of products.
  • Knowledge of supplier parts inventory flow status from purchase order to Company on hand to control parts quality inspection in case of defect found and well skilled about invoice claim process.
  • 4-year technical degree (mechanical or industrial or related quality engineering)
  • Reading comprehension and math / analytical skills are a plus.
  • Proficient in computer applications (i.e. Microsoft Word/Excel/Power Point, e-mail, etc.)
  • Fluent Korean and English

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Parts drawing analysis or GD&T
  • Demonstrated application of engineering skills and problem-solving techniques within the manufacturing processes
  • Environmental standards, IATF 16949 and ISO 14000
  • Knowledge of Auto parts quality control system (6 sigma, SPC, Gauge R&R)

Legal Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age due to federal labor law requirements.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Working Conditions:

  • Hourly Full time
  • Mostly work in the office with occasional work on the floor.
  • Requirement of using computer and office equipment & Work conversation with related team members.
  • Occasionally exposure to noise, moving machinery, energized equipment, rare exposure to dust and chemicals
  • Occasionally exposure to material flow, narrow aisles, occasional exposure to uneven surfaces
  • Frequent requirement of wearing PPE (safety shoes, eye protection) when go on the floor
  • Occasional weekends/OT

Physical Requirements:

  • Mostly sitting, occasionally standing, walking, bending, twisting and reaching
  • Rarely sensory demands: Vision (near/far, depth, color), hearing/speech, smell (as relevant to safety)
  • Occasional requirement of lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.
  • Rare need to work in environment subject to external temperatures

Remote Work: Not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
