Job description

Aerodyne Industries is a dynamic, rapidly growing engineering and information technology services firm headquartered on Florida’s exciting Space Coast. The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

Responsibilities

·Perform engineering tasks in support of the Communication and Tracking (C/T) engineering group.

·Conduct system tests (software and hardware), collect and analyze data on equipment performance. Troubleshoot equipment/system anomalies.

·Initial assignments will focus on development of Radio Frequency Telemetry used during ground processing and vehicle launch throughout the full development cycle including requirements development, testing, and operational use.

·Candidates will be required to apply knowledge of technical principles, vehicle processing operations concepts, ground to vehicle interfaces, and vehicle/ground system design and operation. Additional responsibilities in system training, vehicle processing, and launch certification will follow.

·Candidate will perform engineering work in preparation for assembly, test, processing, and launch of NASA's Space Launch System in support of the Artemis program.

·Candidate will be expected to accomplish testing & operations independently (software and hardware testing), and act as Task Team Leader for assignments involving C/T.

·Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

·Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

BS in Engineering (Electrical / Software/ Aerospace preferred) or technical equivalent from an accredited engineering school.

Aircraft / Spacecraft / Launch Vehicle processing background a plus.
Launch console experience a plus.
Software development (Unix,Python/C++) experience a plus


Physical Requirements

  • May be required to climb stairs to access equipment for trouble shooting.
  • Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
  • Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
  • Position is located on a hazardous testing facility; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in the event of an emergency.

Work Environment

  • Position may require individual to travel daily to different areas on site.
  • Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand, may be required to access various locations on the facility.
  • Climbing ladders and platforms may be necessary.
  • All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and company safety standards.

  • Variety of equipment used in testing.

Attendance

  • Full-time work hours.
  • Position may require occasional overtime, including weekend work, depending on task.
  • Must be dependable and punctual.
  • Shift work may be required.
