JOB DESCRIPTION

ExodusPoint is seeking an entry-level graduate to join the Data Engineering team in New York. This role will support the development of next-generation data solutions for our investment teams, which span a wide range of asset classes and strategies.

The Data Engineering team builds and maintains a robust data platform, processing datasets that serve both investment teams and internal stakeholders. The team includes data platform engineers and data engineers focused on discovering, managing, and curating thousands of alpha-generating data sources for the firm.

The ideal candidate has technical skills and is comfortable working with business teams to create data sets using modern data processing tools and techniques.

Responsibilities:

  • Build data sets using Python, SQL, and related technologies.
  • Develop an understanding of financial data sets
  • Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders on data asset offerings
  • Apply strong data quality controls to validate deliveries and ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Enrich the central data catalog with data profiling and visualizations to support discovery and evaluation
  • Build up internal documentation and sample uses cases of the data sets

Qualifications:

  • Experience programming in Python or another language
  • Familiarity with SQL and/or time-series databases
  • Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and building data pipelines
  • Experience sourcing data via FTP, APIs, S3, or similar channels
  • Ability to manage projects and collaborate with diverse stakeholders

 The pay rate for this internship is $20-$25 per hour
